Does anyone have experience using #RadioMail with #VARAHF ?
RadioMail successfully connects to the VARA softmodem running on my WIndows 10 laptop, and it does try to connect to a VARA station, but does not attempt to set the frequency or a PTT.
When using #Winlink plus VARA HF using the same VARA softmodem, I don't have any issues in that regard; frequency change and PTT to transmit is done.
RadioMail does work without an issue when connecting to a HT via #Mobilinkd TNC4.

Thank you to everyone who checked in, and to RMS: NS0A. I need to register #VaraHF so I don't time out, though that was fun to see.

@colincogle we welcome telnet check ins if HF and VHF/UHF paths are not available, so thanks for the check in, I certainly appreciate it. I had problems with getting #ARDOP to work with my #Ftdx10 , so telnet was the way to go (and once I used the iphone client when I forgot at the last minute.) I’m now using #varaHF as it tolerates my radio, fwiw. Thanks again for the check in.
@rhaen I was under the impression that you had #Ardop running in Wine on your Mac based on your screenshots. Doesn’t Ardop work in wine? #VaraHF seems impossible to get running on a ARM based Mac, at least I had no succes. I also ran into the limited rig support issue of #Winlink. The Pat/Ardop setup is still on my todo list to try.
Just used my GD-77 and @Mobilinkd TNC4 with WoAD to check into #WinlinkWednesday over VHF while waiting for my daughter at her trumpet lesson. This is a super compact and easy to use setup.
Earlier I checked into #WinlinkWednesday over 40m using #VaraHF and Winlink Express with my Xiegu X6100.

#WinlinkWednesday #Winlink gateway operator? If you’re on 14.102 then thats literally on top of the QRG for Net105 Est.1986 as well as interfering with an actual established multimode slot so QRMing two services in one go. Not great.
Please knock it up a notch to 14.1023 where it’ll fit perfectly in harmony with a strong network of 500hz WL2K Gateways as well.
Visual aids provided for clarity.
C’mon folks, harmonise.

Just hoping more random tropo propagation pops up in the North Sea again soon. Still really pleased with the 2m and 70cn opening a couple of weeks ago. Kind of hoping it will happen again. In the meantime back to HF when I can and monitoring #GB3OY. Managed to get some #hamradio done today and checked out #VARA_FM and #varaHF

Today was mostly *looks at graph* ARDOP. Due to the RTTY contest desense it shifted to 200hz mode which is reaallly slooooow, but worked without stepping on anyone.
Each spike in each mode was transferring the same data more or less. VARA blew it by miles, +/-560 of them (900km) 😎

We (the #packetradio bros) are going ahead and publicising a “new” packet location on 10m for #hfpacket #ARDOP #robustpacket #VARAHF and #FX25 300b. “Net10”: https://eindhoven.space/radio-experiments/packet-radio/where-to-find-packet-on-10-meter-band-us-eu/
It’ll be easy for KAM-tone TNCs as well using 28.140MHz LSB, AX25/FX25 inverts to USB for the other modes so dial freq for the multimode stations is 28.1371 USB @ tone pair 1000hz center frequency. See link for chart, much easier.
