@ad6dm Yes #VarAC is an excellent communication tool, but it's a shame that it's proprietary, which prevents its development on alternative O.S.'s.

Having a nice QSO on #VarAc. I do like the interface and link quality, but I wish it had APRS features like #JS8.

I'm running 10W and the other guy is running 250W. My rst-r is -07 and his sent is -14 lol

@KC8JC @n6cta the past few days I've been on sick leave and using this setup to work #FT8 #FT4 #JS8 #VarAC and #Winlink while laying around in bed or on the couch. It is super portable and works well as long as you can read the small fonts 😁

#hamradio folks: I finally got around to trying #VarAC. It is pretty cool. I think I like it more that JS8Call for keyboard QSOs, and it seems to do well with low signal strength. I've had solid copy for long messages at -17 dB

New #VarAC dropped today (V7.0.8). I also updated the #VARA modem. The big changes are automatic QSY and a shorter ping sequence. Those will both be helpful to reduce congestion on the calling QRG's. #amateurradio

Ich hab ja lange nix mehr mit #VarAC gemacht - bestimmt schon 2-3 Monate... gestern kam ne neue Version raus, die unterstützt jetzt #flrig - das war für mich ein Trigger, das mal umzustellen (weil ich JTDX auch mit flrig laufen hab und damit sehr zufrieden bin und jetzt auch z.B. die Tuner-Funktion auch bei VarAC nutzen kann).

Mal schauen, was noch an brauchbaren Dingen drin ist :-)

Has anybody else on here been playing with the #VarAC conversational HF digital data mode?
I started with it a week or so ago and I like it. Quite different from the minimalism of #FT4 or #FT8

I hear folks complaining about #VarAC and only exchanging signal reports... maybe I've been lucky but I've had some great contacts with the mode!
