Having a fun time compiling my (very very late) best-of list of #metal albums for 2021 (I know, I know) over the last few weeks.

The debut record, Animate//Isolate by Minneapolis' #Obsolete totally flew under my radar in '21 - a fantastic technical #death / #thrash album in the vein of #Atheist, #Martyr, #Coroner, #Vektor etc. & hints of oldschool DM melodies/song structure similar to #Hellwitch, #Monstrosity, & older era #Dismember, #Hypocrisy.

Anybody else having a "holy triforce" in #heavymetal ? My three favourite bands by far are currently #ironmaiden , #atlanteankodex #Vektor . The term "triforce" is obviously inspired by one of the greatest #gaming series of all time: #thelegendofzelda 🤘🏻

The number one spot though will always be blocked by Maiden.

@cheerup I started with Maiden, Motörhead, discovered #Mastodon, fell in love with the 2010s releases of #Anthrax, #Testament, found out that I really like technical stuff like #Vektor, #Slugdge, #RiversOfNihil and touched a bit of Black with Melechesh, Behemoth and Anaal Nathrakh. So you can tell, it got heavier and darker, but still, I would never consider Maiden "Rock", I consider them "Great" 🤘

Für diese #Illustrationen habe ich frei Stockfotos als Vorlage benutzt. Sind ziemlich knallig geworden, was die Farben angeht 😅
