Printing the moulds takes a lot of time and consumes quite a lot of filament. Each pair of moulds (shapes for left / right sides differ) is only needed once per set of protectors / per alpha 7 velomobile. So I will offer a build on order service. First FIVE orders will get a special discount for accepting a maybe not 100 % perfect PU filling.

Gisteren voor het eerst (??!!) de banden van m'n QuatreVelo opgepompt. Ze stonden op 1,5 bar ofzo. Nu blijkt dat ik toch wel degelijk 40 of zelfs 50 kan rijden 😂. Met 1,5 bar was-ie maar nét sneller dan mijn oude Quest #velomobiel

Ik vind het rijden met de racekap toch veel minder leuk als "open" rijden met de #velomobiel Helaas kan mijn huid niet goed tegen zonnestralen. Ik ga proberen of ik middels twee keer daags zonnebrandolie smeren toch open kan blijven rijden.

On this morning's ride into the countryside I decided to go across an area of heath which I've not crossed in several months.

This is a cycle-path, but it's intended for recreational purposes only, it's in a nature area, and it's never going to be surfaced with asphalt or concrete.

It's a bit of a goldilocks cyclepath. In the winter it can be muddy so I avoid it. In the middle of summer it can be impossibly busy with tourists so I avoid it then as well. The conditions have to be "just right" for this to be a pleasant place to cycle.

Today seemed like just the sort of day that this path could be enjoyable, but sadly it had just been resurfaced. A truck doing the work was still there.

In most cases, resurfacing means a better cyclepath, but we have "schelpenpaden" in the Netherlands, surfaced with shells, and this one had just had millions of extra loose shells sprinkled along a 3 km distance.

It'll be fine to cycle over in a few weeks or months, after it's weathered in a bit, but at the moment it's quite horrid so I turned around and added an unexpected 5 km detour to my 35 km route.
