Any #Hampshire based #recumbent or #velomobile riders seeing this?

I have been enjoying some of the lanes and cyclepaths on my #recumbentbike and plan to to do a nice long 50km+ ride today or tomorrow.

Would be amazing to have some company to attract more "Daddy what's wrong with his bike?" comments. :-)

If bicycles are the most efficient form of transportation, why on earth would we be working so hard to develop what is essentially an enclosed bicycle which, because it weighs and is more complex, is likely less efficient and more costly?

Printing the moulds takes a lot of time and consumes quite a lot of filament. Each pair of moulds (shapes for left / right sides differ) is only needed once per set of protectors / per alpha 7 velomobile. So I will offer a build on order service. First FIVE orders will get a special discount for accepting a maybe not 100 % perfect PU filling.

Today we went to visit a solar cycle/foot-path in Groningen. Solar road surfaces are of course completely idiotic. Why ? Because solar cells work best when they're not in shade, when they're not covered in thick translucent plastic, when there are no pebbles, sand or cigarette butts on them, and when they are at an angle towards the sun which also allows the rain to wash them.
But anyway, it was an arbitrary local destination for us on today's 70 km round trip.

Work in progress… started in 2022/08, one of my very first #3Dprinting #velomobile parts project just reached another milestone. I'm confident to mount my new rear view mirrors within the next 6 to 8 weeks. 😉

Ehrlich gesagt hat es mich massiv genervt, dass E-Autos subventioniert worden sind, #velomobile aber offensichtlich nicht.

Cycling on Friday and today. Both photos are from the same cycle-path.

On Friday we had lovely weather. Judy and I visited an organic garden centre for ideas about what to do in our front garden. More soft fruit is likely.

Today I met some others for what was supposed to be a longer ride through the countryside, but the weather was basically horrible so we cut it short. In a velomobile you stay quite dry in normal rain, but abnormal rain like this still gets you. It also means you can't really see where you're going any more.

Though the forecast wasn't great, a lot more people were caught out in the rain today than would otherwise have been the case because it's the last day of the Drentse Fietsvierdaagse - a four day cycling event.
