anti social fears
like to love to venerate
push hate here to cancel
eager for the truth
to disappear

Much mourned
And widely revered.
So revered,
That when those,
Who knew rhe truth,
Spoke out,
Many refused to hear..
So feared,
That even when they were in the ground,
It took courage
To speak against them.
The funeral is over,
Let the grievers give way to the aggrieved.
Let tears give way to rage.
Let veneration give way to truth.
Let remembrance give way to justice,
It is time.

With emails, social media posts
inundating us this week with
buy, buy, buy,
and influencers posting
beautiful lifestyle photos
that also say
buy, buy, buy,
how different would
things be if society
didn't venerate
capitalism?
Imagine if we were all
inundated with messages
of caring about one another,
through means other than
consuming?
Helping to reduce disease burden,
reduce burden of the
most marginalized in society,
reduce the burden to Mother Earth?
I kneel before no one
I stand and wait
Theses are the promises I create
Born from the pain I generate
A sorrow I will #venerate
Because I'm too stubborn to let go
Too selfish to wait for tomorrow
Loving the torment of today
While I let the past whisper away
Secrets I wish I could forget
But
When I let go of what I resent
Cleanse myself of that regret
It's the only way I can move on
I stand and wait
I kneel before no one

Excuse me
Would you be so kind
As to keep your
Prideful veneration
Private, please?
I think I really have been
Christ-ed quite enough
For one lifetime.
No thank you
Narcissistic nativity
Carefully masculated
And white.
May I suggest
Some quiet acts of charity,
Some elder care,
Perhaps a revolution?
To that I could give
An amen.

It used to be god/s
(We had imagination then)
Or the old people
Connecting life to lifetimes.
It used to be
The pull and push
Of seasons on our bones.
It used to be the dead.
What do we venerate now?
Next-day delivery.
We are strange and ugly
Narcissi at the water's edge.
Someone should push us in.

What came out was, "I appreciate you" when the truth was, he venerated her. She made magic with her gentle touch, her sensible words, her graceful presentation. He had seen her calm a raging hormone storm in a pubescent pre-teen with a paragraph and a squeeze. She laughed at his jokes, respected his space, didn't put down his hobbies even if they took over his time. He wondered if she knew his thoughts about her and was too polite to discuss them.
#Venerate
.
Venerate that which resonates God
The one God,
the love God, the God the ideal.
The truth God, the good God,
the God that is real.
.
The name beyond others
That cannot be know.
That moves without faith
As beauties truth shows.
.
The God of such strength
That strength is all gone
The comfort of tears
And where fears belong
.
Embracing, embracing
All life and time
Without man made conditions
Or games to be played
.
Embracing, embracing
All that is made
For all life is mortal
And eternally saved
.
We struggle and question
I’m the shape of our wants
Creating conditions
To protect what we’ve got
.
But no rules exist
Or condition in love
For all have a home
in the good God above
.

Can we choose to #venerate

by so many countrymen,
how do I find hope?

A statue,
A book,
A symbol,
On a pedestal,
Decorated with flowers and myths,
We venerate,
With reverie and submission
In hope to find something
We give up something…
A part of our tired self
That finds it difficult
To deal with the world
On its own
#MastoPrompt #smallpoems #poetry #venerate
I venerate you
Who has banished fear
And lights a flame
In the hearts of those
Still searching.
I venerate you
For sharing the warmth
Of your love.

Millard had no interest in seeing the body, the way his father had fallen forward on the desk, his head slamming down so hard Sarah, his assistant, had come rushing in. Millard had no interest in seeing how his father had drooled onto the papers on his desk, how his cheek was so badly stained from the spilled ink the undertaker suggested a closed casket.
“Just burn him," Millard told him.
“Do you mean cremation, sir?”
"Isn't that what cremation is?"

Animal, mineral, or venerable?
I venerate duckweed
here on the river. Each
tiny thallus a two-leaf
sacrifice; self-abandoned,
floating downstream
in their lazy battalion;
one of the numberless
silent scraps of green,
massing as unstoppable
bloom; wave after wave;
peppery food for thought
and ducks. And, they say,
even for Martians, too
(if we let them aboard
our Abandon Earth-ship.)
Can't help but feel a little put out
If I could I'd pout
Not invited to secret santa
Nor the work party
Even though I bought fanta
Stood like a tool
All on my own
I mean, I could've gone home
These things are awkward
But show some respect
I'm the main man
Without me, what would you get?
I suppose they might not be able to see
But that's no excuse not to #venerate me
I swear this is the last time I appear
The undertaker's work parties
This old Grim Reaper's not welcome here.

So many songs,
That weave through my rhyme.
Singing the music
Describing my time.
.
The song of the child
Tender and sweet.
Innocent, loved,
accepted, complete.
.
The song of the teen,
as he ran to the world.
Discovered himself.
Discovered his girl.
.
The song of the journeyman
finding his place.
Learning the life
he hoped to embrace.
.
The song of the man
Strong in himself.
Working his days.
Dreaming of Wealth.
.
The song of the father
So much protect.
Tireder but wiser.
Deserving respect.
.
The song of the old man
Slowed down by time.
More joy in the simple.
More mind to be kind.
.
Finally the #swan song
shall pass from my lips.
A last gentle smile.
A venerable kiss.

He stood up on the platform
The Speaker
The Squeaker
The Total Self Seeker
Blustering bubbles of bile and spite
Caressed the ears of those only to willing to bite
To be born on the wings of bad breath
As it wafted heatedly across the room
Across a barren landscape of cognitive death
And yet to the ears of the woke
The words of the bloke
Yes that bile that he uttered
That the crowd echoed and muttered
Said nothing but venerate me.

Winds through valleys, Do not wait,
The ever-growing don't hesitate,
Those fueled by passion I venerate,
To them this poem I dedicate.
The cheery ones who with no haste,
The work they do, They dominate,
For the world, they generate,
Nothing but smiles without any hate.
