Visiting Chicago this weekend, and I am reminded of what a well-done #PublicTransit access can look like.
Years ago I was impressed that CTA’s #Ventra cards were just prepaid debit cards you could use anywhere, which meant they could help many unbanked people with day to day activities.
And now, if you have any contactless payment card (digital tap wallets or just a tap-capable physical card) you can use that without using a special card or app or ticket.
Proprietary transit payment systems need to die. *cough* #ClipperCard *cough*

The worst part of my commute on the #CTA is the disappearing bus problem.
I'll look at the status in #ventra and see my next bus is in 25 minutes. I check later: 17 minutes, a few minutes later I check again, 12 minutes,
I check a minute after that, 23 minutes. Did the bus back up? Several miles?
No, my guess is that because I'm near the end of the route, some bus drivers must be able to call it quits and skip the rest of their route.
This happened Monday when the bus was 5 min away.
