I was always surprised they were still there every time I went in to renew my driver's licence. Always thought it was a cool design, I'm surprised to hear it lasted only one generation.

I heard in the #VergeCast about https://forecastadvisor.com. It's a pretty neat service, showing you what weather data providers have historically been the most accurate for your area. For me in the SF Bay Area it's The Weather Channel and AccuWeather.

The #vergecast this week talks a lot about how #Mastodon isn't the #Twitter replacement. I don't believe this is inherently true, I think it can be a terrific replacement. I also feel like #Mastodon doesn't need to be a #Twitter replacement. It can have similar features, but why does it need to be a replacement or direct competitor? They can coexist, giving users more choices of the service they use. The beautiful part about #Mastodon is the freedom, choice, and utility of the #Fediverse.
