Pet peeve for #fantasy settings in media: peasants wearing ill-fitting, ragged, crudely-made clothing to show they're poor. But without automation, textile labour is cheap and widely available - clothes might be simple but not badly made; likewise not many commoners are going to be so pressed for time they can't have tears neatly repaired.

Conversely, cloth is EXPENSIVE - having loose-fitting clothing (pleats, gathers, ruffles, etc) is a sign of wealth, not poverty! #history #verisimilitude

I know most hacking scenes in TV and film are fake because I've never seen the phrase "npm WARN deprecated" in a single one of them.

@Impossible_PhD Your struggle reminds me of Fionne Orlander and the 2020 "Fix a Brick" campaign. I guess I'm odd, but when faced with issues of physical #verisimilitude, I retreat from the #asymptotic edge and focus on my mental evaluations of my situation. People respond much more readily to how I feel about myself than how I look.
