I need a better monitor & would prefer one with good pixel density/color reproduction for macOS. There aren't many real options, so here I am. Looking at an Ergotron LX arm to pair with it. Thoughts on the arm or a better option? I bought a cheaper one for another monitor & wish I had gone higher quality. Also, what color matches well to the Studio Display - Polished Aluminum (my bet) or White?

35 followers · 249 posts · Server tty0.social#FreeBSD hasn't been able to memory map a framebuffer in 800x600 mode for decades. It has trouble with framebuffer sizes that aren't whole multiples of the page size, and doesn't let programs map the very last partial page.
Only one person has apparently noticed this, and the bug, filed 11 years ago and still unfixed, is marked "affects only me".

Additional VBE extensions (on top of VBE 2.0+) to provide hardware accelerated blitter and other 2D operations. It was too late to the game (1996) as industries were moving to Windows and DirectX, but still after years you can grab source code of the library that comes with #MSDOS driver you can use in your code.
