Veterinarians go to medical school, the same as any human doctor. But they make the salary of a teacher in the USA.

It is culturally considered less noble to work with animals than with people.

Today we took #Niko to meet his new veterinarian. Niko super duper panicked.

The vet and techs were lovely and we will definitely be keeping them. But I can't tell you how sad I felt about how afraid this kid was.

We have a tranquilizer to use for him next time, but it was an emotionally hard day for us both.

there isn't really a settled group, the vets there are young and not super experienced, they rely on expensive imaging rather than in-office physical exams. They're nice, and we <3 all veterinarians.

But they're very far away from our home...and Gracie & Niko have no complex vet history there.

Do we start shopping for a new practice? It feels disloyal to the business office ppl (and our long history with them ensures they know us and understand stuff).

#caturday Missing my sweet boy as he has been in the hospital since yesterday. Very traumatic; It just wouldn’t stop. Tried taking him to a 24 hr emergency vet, told the wait would be 2-3 hrs minimal. Later I would have 2 different vets tell me 2-3 hrs was good, as it’s usually more like 6-8. Did we know there is shortage of vets out there? We did not. It’s horrible to watch your best buddy suffer and you can’t make it better.😢 #veterinarians #CatswithLymphoma
