Having trouble remembering the difference between the flag of Belgium and the flag of Germany?
Remember this simple rhyme:
“Black touches Red, you’re in Germany like Kaiser Fred¹.
Black touches yellow, you’re in Belgium, so have a waffle with marshmallow².”³
¹This assumes that you know that Kaiser Frederick III was the second Emperor of Germany.
²This is only a slant rhyme, and it barely works since — while dessert waffles are associated with Belgium, and they would be pretty good with marshmallows on them — marshmallows are not particularly associated with Belgian waffles.
³Yes, I am not particularly good at coming up with mnemonics.

That is, a British blue ensign defaced with the escutcheon of the Canadian Coat of Arms on the fly. I couldn't tell whether it was the one from 1922 to 1957 with the green maple leaves, or the one from 1957 to 1965 with the red maple leaves, because the light was low. Definitely a niche flag. #vexillology #Canada #history

It's hard to keep track of all the #LGBTQIA+ flags. I'm old school, I think everyone was and should feel represented by the rainbow 🏳️🌈 :rainbow_heart: 🌈 . It's was never just "gay" like some people claim now.

Una de las banderas que más me gusta de toda la historia es la de la #RDA , pero me parece que el escudo se ve desproporcionado con respecto a las franjas. Por eso se me ocurrió esta variación, con proporciones parecidas a las de España (la franja central es el doble de ancha que las otras dos).
Me parece que hubiera tenido sentido simbólico, siendo el rojo el color del socialismo.
