Like, it would have been better if they retconned a bunch of stuff to tie up with the third game (since the two share the most similarities with each other). I dunno...it just feels like a better way to tie up the first three games before they took the direction that they did in 4.
It builds up on the engine used by the third game while making it a bit more gamer friendly. Story-wise, it seems they retained everything from the original (have only gotten past 25% of the game so far) which I feel like they shouldn't have done?
Was planning on playing Wild Arms 4 first (after beating and Platinuming WA3) but decided against it at the last minute and booted up Wild ARMs Alter Code F first, the remake of thr first #WildARMs game for the #Playstation2.

The music is still wonderful, the characters were a joy to watch develop during cutscenes and the ending was not an overly long cutscene (like how they did with Wild Arms 2, which I hated with a passion). Overall, the third game sort of knocks down the first one on my tier list down a bit taking the throne as my favorite in the franchise.
Now on to the 4th game in the franchise (which I will be playing on my #SteamDeck)!

I like how they overhauled the PSS from Wild Arms 2 but hated how it is tied with the mediums and how there's no way to buy healing items (and if you miss the Secret Garden's side quest, then no way to farm them as well).
It is the most annoying in terms of camera movement, side quests, & that 10-stage-transformation Final Battle (it's an epic one, mind you, but for someone who had to go through 100 floors to get to the hardest optional boss in the game without saving (it took me 2 hrs for that alone), having to go through another long slog of a battle was not my idea of fun (granted, each stage took me 1-2 turns to beat with how OP my characters were, but still!!)).

And with that my Platinum-Trophy Playthrough for #WildARMs3 comes to a close. It took me longer than it should but of the 3 #WildArms games I've played, the third one has the best story and dialogue.

Couldn't screenshot the entire conversation, but this one between Virginia and Clive has got to be one of the best dialogues #WidARMs3 has to offer.

Reached the half-way point of the game yesterday and I think my biggest gripe is the long loading times I've experienced even as playing #WildARMS3 on the #Playstation5.
That being said, I think I like this more than 2. The dialogue translation and the story is a bit more polished....just wished this is a direct sequel to 1 than a mishmash of the plot from it.

Now playing #WildARMs3 via the Classic games lineup from the #PlayStationPlus subscription on the #Playstation5
Got to say, it's a lot more complicated than the first too. The battles (camera, to be specific) is a bit chaotic as well with everyone running around. Don't know how I feel right off the bat, though, especially with limited summons and stuff.

Overall, I feel like I have a fun-hate relationship with the second game in the franchise. I had fun with the game mechanics but hated every second of reading the dialogue (and that's saying something considering I LOVE reading and JRPGs). If I were to replay this franchise again, I'd probably not play Wild ARMs 2 again.
Anyways, that's just my two (and a half, lol) cents on #WildARMs2.

- Too many and too long loading screens even when playing it on the #Playstation5. Wild ARMs (the first game) loads even faster than this one, and that game is MUCH older (but, then again, it doesn't eat up as many resources (and is a much smaller game) than this one.

- The ending was dumb...though I suppose the dialogue is to blame for that. It was too long a cutscene where you cannot speed up the dialogue and it was plain TORTURE. I didn't feel any connection with any of the characters whose own character arcs ended up not really going much of anywhere. There were a few resolutions, but not so much as an open-and-shut thing and I feel as though there was something MISSING (but can't, for the life of me, figure out what it is).
- The optional boss fights were easy, compared to how it was in the original. I didn't even have to use a full revive and I went around dealing with them when my party was around level 50. The original's secret bosses/optional bosses were a lot more intense and had me at the edge of my seat (granted, having Marivel around with ALL her Red Powers might have made it easier for me).
- The dialogue is the WORST, which made playing this game a chore. The translation was done in a seemingly word-for-word fashion that I often just speed read through them. So many things repeated constantly in the span of a few text boxes and some conversations making so little sense it feels dumb to read them. Worse is when you get to the end. Also, Liz's dialogue is a headache to read.
- The plot is passable. There are moments that you can guess what is going to happen and I found myself wishing some unforeseen twist (granted I played this when I was still a kid, but that was ages ago and I've forgotten the latter parts of the story) in the story. There wasn't.
- The 2 Opening Songs (one from the first disc and the other from the second disc) are bangers. Even the music used in the final battle (a rendition of the original Wild ARMs theme) is great to listen to and never gets old.
Okay, thoughts on #WildARMs2 after finishing it off of the #PlaystationPlus Classics Collection (A thread):
- The game's mechanics (battles, exploration, puzzles) are fun and are a great upgrade from the previous title.

Finally finished and 100% the game (all sealed monsters, sidequests, monster album, equipment) and got the platinum trophy for #WildArms2.
I got a couple of thoughts on it and will be sharing it tomorrow (or later since it's already 12:45AM here and I am tiiiiired).

Just finished Disk 1 of #WildArms2.
I, honestly, do not feel the story of this game. It feels like it's trying to be complicated with its dialogue when the plot is just simple. It's annoying to say the least.
And the characters? Though they have much more personality, I couldn't really find myself caring about them or their predicament much...as opposed to the first game, which is weird...
