Tried to read the potentiometer values of #Commodore #Paddles with a #C128, #VIC20 and #C64.
C128 delievers great values (read with the POD command) with almost no diffs up or down from the middle. VIC20 (PEEK(36872) , PEEK (36873)) has some minimal differences but not much. But C64 (PEEK(54297), PEEK(54298)) has some weird differences with peaks up and down from the middle! I wonder why? I used the same paddles for all 3 tests...

@haitchfive @thomasfuchs Commodore released an excellent Programmer's Reference Guide for each of their computers (VIC-20, C64, C128, etc) and there was a wealth of information from third parties. Most of what I learned was from Jim Butterfield and his excellent books!

78 followers · 1134 posts · Server astrodon.social@haitchfive @thomasfuchs I am fortunate that my assembler experiences on the 6502 were much better. I started out by just POKEing my stuff into memory. Later I typed in and used a simple assembler called TinyMON, and finally I wound up using VICMON.
As for hashtags, maybe #MOS6502 ?

Edward Kelley was the first article I edited on wikipedia in 2003 (I've been on wikipedia for a bit) . My great great grand aunt was reputedly a powerful witch. She got swindled in a land deal and made the land in question fallow. Apparently to this day nothing grows on it.
