@overengineer @patbf There are some linux YouTube clients that will allow you to watch videos, build a private library of videos you like and not have to log in to Google. That's an easy fix on Linux.

There is also a #VideoDownloader app i posted about, should be able to find it under the Privacy featured hashtag of mine, You can use that to download even age restricted videos without having to log in to Google.

Protonmail is definitely a good move, i use them as well for email.

Additionally, #VideoDownloader on #Linux will download #audio files from places like #SoundCloud and some other places. It can also convert #YouTube videos to audio if you want that.

(*Don't expect it to grab #Spotify / #iTunes / #Tidal #music that are #DRM protected, you're out of luck there)

I'm not advocating for people to use this for #piracy but merely explaining what is possible on a technical level / how it works.

A simple but useful #GUI based app.

I've tried out a few available video download apps on #linux and some fail to #download #videos from many places other than #YouTube when desired.

This app will not only download videos that are age restricted on YouTube without logging in for added #privacy, but it will also download videos from pretty much anywhere / any site as long as they are not #DRM protected.
