Around this time ten years ago, Cynthia Yih Shih was probably working on her fifth solo studio album “Aims” that was released in September ’13, of course under her pen name Vienna Teng.

In one of the songs, she manages to make me *like* processed vocals; *love* even — and that is saying something! Some of you likely know how much of an Auto-Tune aversion I have buried deep inside me… In this certain case, though, the electronics make perfect sense, it’s a song about “online monitoring and data privacy”, as @augieray writes — who posted the song yesterday, but with a link to YouTube. I prefer a proxy like vid.puffyan.us or invidious.snopyta.org, as you know, or better even: bandcamp.
