Napa News: Brion Wise (Brion, B Wise) has announced the acquisition of a 128-acre property on Pritchard Hill. Formerly known as Montagna, the property includes 42 planted acres. Previously listed at $55 million in 2019, the purchase price was not disclosed, but does anyone think it could be less than that?

A glass of Ariyanas Romé Rosado. Romé is the indigenous red grape of Málaga's Axarquía - very rare.
Like many of local farmers, on our own vineyard we have a lot of moscatel intermixed with a some romé. We keep most of the limited supply for this 100% Romé rosé wine. It is dry, fresh and vividly conveys the terroir, with mineral notes from our slate soils and salty hints from our nearness to the Mediterranean sea.

Friendly European chameleon that was chilling out on an metal artwork in our herb garden, having fallen from the figtree above. They are rare, protected... and wonderful - a delight to have living in our organic vineyard. Since they are arboreal this individual was lifted gently back into the tree.

There is certainly a joy living near one of the most famous wine tasting areas in the world. A trip to the vineyards is certainly one of them.
There are a number of wineries where my wife and feel like home at. I have got to know a number of wine makers over the years and have been given the opportunity to photograph a few vineyards unfettered.

Fall color comes to Napa late in the year. At least compared to my friends in the North.
