With all the carpentry I did, the #garden really got away from me and had its own chaotic energy with the heat and all the rain. Every year I let a line of Joe Pie Weed get away and go wild. I hate that it blocks a view of the pond by the garden, but I love the pink-purple flowers. This year, thanks to the rain, it's about eight feet tall!
Here it is only a purple haze in the distance behind the dark sunflower with dew.

Local birdlife. The one that caught the fish was lucky to eat it - the other 2 tried very hard to steal it. And a not so great attempt at catching one flying - these birds fly very fast when low on the water. I took nearly 100 shots - and only one turned out half ok.

If I'd had more time I might have framed up some more prints from way back, for this theme of process, but I've got one from a 4 x 5 film scan, Tri-x exposed in 1981. The show also features some straight-up landscape work with digital cameras as well as some of the #vintagelens work I've done more recently.
If they put me up in a room to talk, I've got a lot to say. Otherwise I’ll mingle with a mask.

During my recent visit to Camera Outfitters in Lafayette IN, I picked up a Sears branded Tokina 300mm F5.6 for about $20. I haven't been able to pin down the manufacture date, but I'm guessing late 80s/early 90s. It seems the lens was was produced for Sears and about a crap-ton were sold.
The optical quality is so/so, but I still had fun taking these test shots. It's not as good as my 300mm Takumar, but it's a heck of a lot lighter 😁

For long as I've been paying attention to anything at all, I've never seen such a year for roadside chicory in #Vermont. Not just duration, but also extent; it's everywhere. And drat, this is a year I haven't had time to stop along the roadside with an old #vintagelens and see what I can do with it. Right now the blue chicory is with a lot of queen anne's lace, some goldenrod, some loosestrife.
