Crab apple tree is the variety “Candymint." Usually few fruits, it had a great year. This year the jewelweed is so feisty, it grew right up into the tree. An unusual color combination here -- these deep green leaves, the maroon apples, the jewelweed flowers. Love this color palette.

This year I was so busy with non-photography I just kept the same two at hand, mostly: Tokina 90 f2.4 and Olympus 50 OM f2 Macro. Usually I swap out s like mad.

Burning flowers

Just some tulips shot with earliest Version (Version 1) of the Porst Color Reflex 55/1.4 adapted to a Nex-7 (M42 to E-mount). No coating in that lense let's one play with the lights. For outdoor shootings I definetaly recommend a lense hood.

Shot taken with a mid '70s 50/1.8 EC lense made by Miranda 50/1.8 EC. Lense hast been adapted to a Sony Nex-7 using a 3D-printed adapter.

Part two of correiense ( Belladonna L.) in bloom. orientation so toot preview won't do it justice. Slightly edited to correct perspective, otherwise (very nearly) & untouched. Lens used this time was Yashica ML 50mm f/1.7 with fully open aperture. Two external Godox guns, one above the Amaryllis, the other slightly from the side of the camera. I tried other positions, but I liked in this shot the most.

Artsy of windowsill correiense ( Belladonna L.) in bloom in front of a calendar. Trying out my new tripod I got for a steal on eBay auctions.

Illuminated using two off-cam Godox V860IIc guns. I was too lazy to change lenses since my out-of-the-window birding today, so this was done using same Soligor stack on a body as my Blackbird photo earlier today.

As you can see, there was no need to change the lenses. Exceptional sharpness, clean , suitable depth of field, beautiful and faithful colours, great contrast (no boost there!) and no optical aberrations to speak of. This is Jpeg.

FWIW the lens stack I used for this and many, many other photos I take cost me about 100€ including a multicoated teleconverter with built-in macro-focusing helicoid, very good but equally inexpensive UV filter, an anodized aluminum lens hood and all lens caps, front and back. They even came in a nice faux-leather padded pouch and desiccant bags. And the stack takes tack sharp and aberration-free photos at focal lengths from 28 to 400mm (i.e. a 14.3x zoom) and can do 1:1 macro! Take that [insert any brand that would like you to sell your house, your left kidney, and your firstborn son to buy one with similar performance off them]! 😜 🤘🏽

Three faces of the same , at 50, 100 and 600mm, recpectively (might not be uploaded and displayed in that order).

The colours in these images were obtained with a custom RGB tone curve profile in Picture Style Editor. I'm including a screenshot of it. Colours themselves weren't changed (in the profile), albeit the mentioned custom profile is based on "Landscape" one that Canon cameras have built-in and I do find the latter to not be linear about it on the colour wheel. But, the posted photos are, technically, straight out of cam! As meaningful as that is with digital cameras 😜

Windowsill moth (Phalaenopsis) and christmas (Schlumbergera) are both blooming in white at the same time. The latter clearly didn't get the memo Christmas was over a month ago!

Lenses used were E 100mm f/2.8 and C/D 60-300mm f/4-5.6 MC, both with attached MC7 2x Macro Focusing on a body with X2T in control of two external V860II guns (both with a white diffuser attached).

I read on the Pentax forums the magnifying ratio of later model 50mm macro Takumar lenses can be given the 1:1 ratio with a 25mm extension tube. It’s not going to win awards for presentation but it works, the apsc sensor is about 23mm wide.

Playing with long . This photo shows the central, days old or younger budding on a young Chinese (Brassica rapa subsp. pekinensis) grown indoor under artificial light (6500K vegetative phase CFL).

In one hand with Soligor C/D 28-200mm f/3.8-5.5 MC Macro variable aperture zoom lens and also Soligor C/D7 macro focusing (with built-in helicoid) attached (shot at macro ratio of about 1:1.25, 56mm f/11 effective, 1/320s, ISO-400), in the other hand Godox V860IIC remote triggered flash unit with a white diffuser on. About 2kg worth of poorly-balanced equipment held in very awkward position. The things I do for your viewing pleasure!! 😜

I used a custom picture style I named "Winter UV Recover" that is meant to do, well, what the name says, but appears to do fairly well also with flash photography 🤷‍♂️

I wonder if the lens gods are shining on me today? Hoping for some usable M42 lenses from this lot!

It does however appear that the Adaptall lens is for Konica mount. Which means I need either another adaptall mount or a Konica SLR!

There's another Praktica as well, but looks like it may need some percussive maintenance.
