However I can find no photos, PDFs, or any evidence of a physical copy online. Has anyone actually seen one? I'm kinda interested in owning a copy.

Looks like the iMac4,1 can be upgraded to a iMac5,1 by cpu and efi upgrade. I don't think it's worth the effort anymore.
But a funny detail in the instructions about then installing Lion, it's "tricky" as you need to EDIT A TEXT FILE!
But dismantling the mac to atoms for the cpu upgrade? Nah.

After a fever of #nostalgia for the simplicity of drawing in the #clarisworks #app, which even led me to buy a #vintagemac, I realize that the #drawing option in #libreoffice is almost the same. A true heir to that #90s #software. On the other hand, I'm glad I only realized this now, because I needed to go back to playing #simcinema and #lemmings on classic #macos and it was a great excuse.

I'm working on implementing variable fonts support in Prince and Allsorts. It brings me an unreasonable amount of joy that OpenType variable fonts are heavily based on TrueType GX variable fonts from Apple, introduced in 1994 with QuickDraw GX.

I discovered https://infinitemac.org and, in a fit of #retrocomputing nostalgia, decided to change my #Debian #KDE desktop to vaguely resemble a #VintageMac running classic #MacOS, including the Chicago and Geneva bitmap fonts.

The result is a bizarre hybrid, but I still think it looks cool.

After 10 glorious years, my #iMac has finally reached the end of its life. A moment of silence for him. In 2013 I bought it maxed out and all my friends called me crazy. Above all, for the ssd which at the time were still very expensive and was a technology that “would not succeed”. 10 years later, all my friends have had multiple computers and I've never had to worry about a thing. They all have ssd drives today. 😆

Maybe we are a bit peculiar: My son on the first night of a two week school holiday, repairing a 1985 Makita drill, talking to a friend on Discord who is putting a terabyte HDD in a 2008 iMac while I'm drinking a beer and figuring out if which old X86 laptop/desktop I can turn into an Pimiga 3.0 machine because apparently you can and RP4 turned expensive.
