If I'm reading this correctly, the #Obama-era rules on "high-hazard flammable" #trains never covered #VinylChloride, in which case all that stuff about #Trump rolling back the rule (and #Biden not doing anything about it) is a red herring with respect to the #EastPalestine #derailment.

They also never covered (and still don't) liquefied natural gas.

Ummmm….. I see nothing here that would deter large corporate entities from reckless neglect. Your model assumes harm to individuals is inevitable, and a big payout will make it all okay.

Imma stick with regulation that would make sure a mile-long train lugging toxic chemicals is not running on antiquated brakes, and that guarantees communities know the manifest of all cargo passing through.
