By the time realizes the importance of on a wider basis, it will be far too late. Political turmoil will make near impossible. Only a thorough revolution will make it possible. I have my doubts U.S. citizens have that type of resolve in them.

studies: John F. Sitton's criticism in "Hannah Arendt's Argument for Council Democracy" (Polity) and Odd Arne Westad's outline of the Korea's Neo-Confucian "Righteous Nation" ideology (Empire and Righteous Nation) perfectly shows what we know about the intended goals of the Abrahamic god, and the limitations of that god's promises.

What studies can do:

John F. Sitton's criticism in "Hannah Arendt's Argument for Council Democracy" and Odd Arne Westad's outline of the Korea's Neo-Confucian "Righteous Nation" ideology perfectly outlines what we can state we know about the intended goals of the Abrahamic god, and the limitations of that god's promises.

I just realized that if we combine two teachings: that Václav Havel warned post-totalitarianism would centralize consumerism as the method of rule and that Walter Benjamin taught that law is* violence, then we can easily come to the conclusion that *consumerism equals violence*, which is something we see all the time in reports on human rights and climate.

I put some of my writing on online again, this time at towardspostviolencesocieties.c

This section does not go so much into , but does go into elements of how work into . Aside from the science of education, I feel that the interdisciplinary central to Violence Studies offers a place for societal reform and growth.

The truths of Violence Studies are too much to maintain between the gap of societal ontology and present education standards.

Perhaps this is why scholars on violence come from such different fields.

Up with my very regular bout of . Recently acquired a collection of essays by . Read his essay, "Why Socialism" (1949). Interestingly he briefly articulates some ideas I have expressed in my description of understanding biolence. Biolence is a concept that I conjured towards the goal of post-violence societies. Obviously, I intend to cite this in future writings continuing an understanding of post-violence societies.

I have no idea what I was thinking when I wrote the above on Jan 16. How could interpreting statehood as ontological terrorism in any way have consequences that are anti-justice? In what way would such a reading of sociopolitical possessiveness bring a threat of absolutism? I retract my concerns, and stand by my original post (richardjtilley.com/statehood-i). Really not sure what I was getting at on Jan. 16. Whatever it was has long left me.

I dream of the day when scholars of and are not so poorly read that they continue to hold up Hannah Arendt as the ultimate authority, not to be outdone. There is far better commentary and research at disposal, just waiting to be discovered, if you want it, if you opt in to read beyond sophomoric illustrations. Trust me, there is no need to remind we are a long way from that day. @histodons
