ignorance is not bliss & they should be more afraid, mainly of the long term consequences

Perhaps it’s b/c I was a kid w/mad active imagination during but there was nothing scarier to me than

has replaced that fear b/c there are therapeutics for one & not the other

Given the choice, I’d take vs repeated♾️reinfection

Evidence showing that some patients may not fully clear the after acute infection. Instead, replicating virus and/or viral RNA - potentially capable of being translated to produce viral proteins - persist in tissue as a "reservoir" . understanding the Immune responses to infection & vaccination in children
in adults associated with in 🩸& MIS-C in children is associated with viral persistence in the intestine which is suggesting that tissue specific differences or age-associated differences in immune responses to persistent 🦠 may explain these different presentations.

I really can't understand why they would call this "atypical" disease. 🤔

For all we know, persistence of ebola in immune-privileged tissues months or years after infection may in fact turn out to be quite typical of infections. [1-5] (references to follow)

🦠 🦟
Saint Louis Encephalitis Virus (SLEV) is a common mosquito-transmitted in the Americas that can cause life-long neurological disability.

Mostly unknown to doctors in the US, there are recent reports from California & Argentina:

🤔 An open question is whether the life-long neurological disability is due to in the brain, as sometimes seen with other flaviviruses:

@kroltanz imo, the simplest explanation as to why monocytes continue to be switched on is that they continue to encounter pathogens 😬

P.S.

And for comparison, here's a completely different model of how an RNA can establish a quasi-latent state to facilitate :

The authors also found hints of viral "latency" associated with longer infection times.

This would suggest that the rate of viral replication might slow down as the infection proceeds, possibly resulting in a quasi-latent state characterized by very low replication and protein synthesis.

How could this be? How could an virus slow its rate of viral replication and protein synthesis to help it to persist?

Well, here's just one possible way:

came to this conclusion July 2022 when 2 ancient ninnies nearly gave me a infection after briefly opening my door for 30 secs & stupidly un-masking after closing🚪

1 of them visibly sick again circa Nov but was imho spreading everywhere she went & still is

So yes, constant infection DOES hide severe symptoms but & constant exposure…is a recipe for a slow yet simultaneously quick☠️🪦

In addition to the above ☝️, there is another persistent brain infection that has been compared to persistent measles infection:

Dengue virus — which infects hundreds of millions of people, each and every year.

If you found the above☝️study eye-opening, consider that Deer Tick/Powassan Virus(POWV) may persist in the brain, as studied in this new paper:

"Of Murines & Humans: Modeling Persistent Powassan Disease in C57BL/6 Mice"
doi.org/10.1128/mbio.03606-22

Specifically, the authors found that the may persist in the brain without creating infectious particles, perhaps just as measles can persist in the brain without creating infectious particles:
