Lacht mich ruhig aus, aber ich kannte #Viriconium von #Harrison bisher nur vom Hörensagen. Leseeindruck "Pastel City": ein einfallsreicher, atmosphärisch dichter und sehr kompetent geschriebener Kurzroman des "Dying Earth"-Genres, der nicht ohne Grund im #AppendixN seinen Platz findet, bietet er doch zahlreiche #pnp-Situationen. Die große Stärke sind sicher die eindrücklichen Bilder. Nervt: Männerlastigkeit, die flachen Figuren überhaupt und der nietzeanische "sinnlos, aber muss ja"-Heroismus.

I think #YoungWizards by @dianeduane is light-years better than #HarryPotter, and AFAIK the author isn't a raving TERF.

I also think that #InTheVanishersPalace by @aliettedb could use some more love. I've been reading it as a retelling of the Eros and Psyche myth, but that might not have been what Ms. Bodard had in mind.

Lastly, I think the #Viriconium stories by M. John Harrison could use some love even though it's old and its worldbuilding is practically #BareStage.
