Any advice for building virtual machines with GPUs on google cloud? I can't get started because of quota issues and get the run-around between billing and the sales department. Maybe there are other platforms? Google Colab Pro+ boots me off after 23 hours so that's not an option.

The main idea behind this project is to make kvmcli my primary tool for provisioning virtual machines in my homelab workflow.
This project is part of a larger personal project that I've been working on (my homelab project). I will share more information about it soon.

If I wanted to run a single program in an #immutable #VM that discards its state on terminating (ideally with the program image on disk being read-only), what would you suggest?

#Unikernel systems seem like an option, possibly.

The idea would be to run an untrusted program inside the VM operate on arbitrary third-party input, convert it into a sanitized/safer format and spit it back out over #RPC to be handled in a program where failure on the simpler format is safe.

Is anyone experiencing issue with running #virtualmachines with #windows11 22H2? Unfortunately one of the PCs I use updated to 22H2 and both #vmware and #virtualbox struggles no matter what I do.

I'm emulating TPM 2 and so far I have a 'Out of Box' error with the keyboard.

I'm trying again.

Asking the kernel to disable PCI #hotplug may have just turned a #macpro2013 (the cylindrical one) from a workstation no longer receiving vendor software updates into something longer-lived. And more in line with my way of computing, which tends to be low-#GPU, moderate-#CPU, and high-memory. I wonder if it will run a bunch of #bhyve #virtualmachines or #FreeBSD #jails in the near future.
