@MrLee There are plenty of books that use this parody (or sometimes a fall from grace). Should we perhaps have a book burning?

More seriously- the effects of social media are the problem. People with good intent given blunt tools with which to debate and rewarded like a game show.

One of the many people so "deeply concerned" about pedos that they can't be bothered to take 2 minutes to learn what pedophilia is.

It's really embarrassing and pathetic

This morning I received an email from Wikipedia. They told me that I was a rare breed of individual who actually supports Wikipedia. The number they stated was 2% of all people who use it that actually donated money to keep it going. Of course all of this was to butter me up for another yearly donation.
Ask no more Wikipedia because your annual $10 donation is on its way.

Luke can't pretend to care about this issue when

he refuses to learn what pedophilia is.

Without basic knowledge of the subject matter he is just an annoying shit wasting everybody's time.

I cleaned out a pantry cupboard. How good am I? There were tins of tuna in there yet I've been since 2017 or so. Some of that stuff was Best Before 2013. Still looked pretty good but probably the poor won't want it.

1/2 - I'm not a ! Would love it if ppl stop .

In this context: if you share info on someone - please put in context as to why, via a link maybe, or explain why.

It's better than just saying "you know why this cartoonist was cancelled, right?"

Author Saira Rao was banned by LinkedIn for saying "white women.'

' White people who don’t believe me, who are shocked right now? Save it. You know that being punished for talking about racism at work and online is par for the course for Black, Indigenous, and brown folks. And we know you know because it is you, white folks, who exact this punishment on us at work. '

, the , the , , , , and . All these pejoratives are used by the conservatives to silence critics; to make it appear that the critics have ulterior motives, whereas it is the conservatives who have the ulterior motive; and that is to not be questioned or debated. All the terms discussed above are used as a way to win debates without having to rebut the arguments used by their critics. blotreport.com/2020/07/23/the-

All this talk of has put me in the mind of something that seems to be making many appearances in my thoughts over the past few weeks... it's an old, famous story... you might have heard of it....

Yes. The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead (by XTC): invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=

Righteous and a cracking tune. Not a common combo.

And yes, I'm totally virtue signalling by posting an Invidious link rather than dumping hapless link clickers into the Youtube/Google/Alphabet panopticon.

In a fossil fueled society - virtue signaling and self-aggrandizing environmental "blah blah blah" is the most common behaviours.

Or disliking those that are really doing something to try & live more ecologically sustainable. For example, vegans.

In a fossil fueled society the most common criticism about fuel is how expensive it is - and what's the government doing so as to make the fuel more affordable.

In a fuel burning society the most common environmentally "friendly" or "green" actions - are virtue signaling ideologies or tiny actions such a "recycling" plastic (vast amounts of plastic - much of which eventually will be incinerated or land filled)

In a fuel burning society the general population simply keeps on burning fuels. Keeps ignoring, downplaying & or denying the health warnings about air pollution. And keeps being spoon fed climate disinformation - it feeds into their desire based optimistic delusions.

In a fuel burning society the most common "action" to *not* deal with air pollution is the excuse (to burn fuels).

In a fuel burning society, the people, the businesses, the governments, prefer to perceive climate change with an optimistic spin (or deny it).

In a fuel burning society (the opposite of dealing with climate change) - the lies support the virtue signaling, self-aggrandizing & deluded optimism.

So, what can we (the majority) actually do about our fuel burning lifestyles? What isn't greenwash, apathy & denial?
