CLT's C symbol was brushed aside in local-only usages, as ITV launched their generic look. The blues and reds in the C made in jnto the triangle, alongside the station's full name.

CLT debuted a new CGI ident in 1987, dropping the connected wordmark and making the C symbol the focus.

This was the daytime version with a bright background, complete with their slogan at the time, "The One to Watch".

As we're nearing a new TV season, that's how I imagined the capital would celebrate it on #VisionOn

Into the mid-80s, CLT also experimented with early CGI.

This was their result, partially illuminating the C symbol, which was encased by reflective rings, alongside the season campaign "Shaping Entertainment".

Like their predecessor, Central London also had their own news service, instead of relying on Thames' offerings.

With the Central wordmark slightly different than that in the ident, the C symbolized the centre of incoming waves of information and news to the region.

ATV London was forced to make fundamental changes to the company in 1980. It was spun off from ACC, and Central London was born.

The new look was fresh to the region, and proved to be dynamic in different settings.
