There is more to this picturesque and iconic part of Nova Scotia...in many ways I love the village of Peggy's Cove more than its famous lighthouse. This is the real Peggy's Cove..and these are Peggy's boats fineartamerica.com/featured/pe

Such a colorful array of fishing boats safely tied up in Digby Harbor!

Digby Scotia is a town on Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy coast. It is home to a large fishing fleet of scallop draggers or trawlers. This type of boat is named as the boat drags a device known as the Digby Drag - a metal frame with teeth with a net attached. The teeth drag over the scallop beds and into the net and eventually onto your plate. fineartamerica.com/featured/di

The entire eastern coast of Canada was buffeted by gale force winds.

Arriving at Margaretsville on the Bay of Fundy shores, I was immediately hit by the winds. At the wharf, where at low tide, the fishing boats were resting on the ocean floor until the tide returns to flood the seashore. In the distance, the roar of the surf was almost deafening. Wave after wave curled, crested and crashed against the rocky coast. fineartamerica.com/featured/th

Such colorful wall art decorates this wooden shed. Located on the wharf in the historic town of Annapolis Royal , each buoy or float plays an important role in the safety of what is a dangerous occupation.

The colors and sizes of the buoys caught my eye as I wandered around the town. Such a casual display on the wall of the building for such important pieces of fishing gear. fineartamerica.com/featured/th

Passing through the seaside town of Digby , I spotted this ornate tide clock.

A tide clock is designed to keep track of the moon's motion around the earth.

Digby has a large scallop fishing fleet, and its scallops are renowned worldwide

Since 2004, Digby has played host to the Wharf Rat Rally, the largest motorcycle rally in Atlantic Canada, when the population of the town swells from 2,000 to 50,000 people!! fineartamerica.com/featured/di
