by a wire teenager. Another, astride
a loping trailer, trailing a busted-up Chevy, catches, and sets the bale flush
with all the others.
The Chevy shutters a stop, boys look up
at the setting sun, painting the sky
the same flaxen gold as the bales.
Dusted boots dangle over the tailgate
swinging against the sway of cut grass.
Gloved hands wipe grimy sweat from brows
with red bandana.
Drink Dr. Pepper.

#OTD Birth of Henry Winthrop Sargent, American #Horticulturist.
He named his 20-acre #Estate on the #Hudson River #Wodenethe (woody promontory). A reporter once said it was a wretched, bad name.
Henry used #Trees to frame beautiful #Vistas. After 40 years, he reflected,
“The first ten years I did everything wrong. The next five I spent correcting my mistakes.”
Wodenethe became a sanatorium. Rosemary #Kennedy, #JFK's disabled sister, lived there in secret in the 1940s.

I guess it’s #mondog today.
Now, this is the love of my life. His name is Pablo, he’s the best #dachshund of all #dogs. Pablo is equally indifferent towards cats, hedgehogs, other dogs, birds. He likes great #vistas after a decent #hike. He’s one happy puppy!

When I got to work, the sky was dark and colorless, but there was an opening, a very light opening. I thought I should recreate it when I got back from work. I did. I then decided to add some mountains, Bob Ross like, and well, this vista happened.
