Looks like VS Code will be Microsoft’s answer to dotnet development on Mac going forward. Hopefully this means that we’ll see focused improvements to the new C# Dev Kit extension in VS Code.
It seems unlikely, but is this a glimpse into the future for Visual Studio on Windows?

Really sad to hear that #Microsoft is killing #VisualStudioForMac 😐
Since the release of dotnet core, I had used jetBrains Rider on macOS, but after Microsoft re-branded Xamarin Studio to be VS for Mac it became my primary IDE on my macOS laptops.
I guess it's back to Rider? 🤷♂️ I don't view VS Code as a viable alternative -- while powerful, compared to other IDEs such as Visual Studio on Windows or jetBrains Rider makes VS code just feel like a fancy text editor.

I'm curious, does anyone actually use #VisualStudio for Mac? It seems very feature incomplete compared to Jetbrains Rider, or even #VSCode. #VisualStudioForMac

#VisualStudioForMac disrespects #Mac conventions by having the short cuts for cut, copy & paste as ⌃X, ⌃C & ⌃V mirroring Windows rather than ⌘X, ⌘C & ⌘V which is standard in Mac apps. This is confusing when switching between apps. Even #MicrosoftWord uses the standard Mac shortcuts, just to make this all the more confusing!

creating a High Contrast Mode for #VisualStudioForMac. any do's/don'ts? there doesn't seem to much information out there on how to create a good one, so any basic tips are appreciated. :)
Like most things on my Mac, #VisualStudioForMac doesn't work. I'm going to blame @Microsoft because they won't tell me to buy a new Mac.
