Wenn ihr beide Aufnahmen hintereinander hört, ist auffallend, dass Herr Amsel während des Singens immer munterer wird: Der Gesang ist zunächst zögerlich, wird aber im Verlauf der Viertelstunde kraftvoller und bestimmter. (Naja, auch so eine Amsel muss am frühen Morgen erst richtig wach werden. 😆)

Auch die restliche Vogelwelt erwacht nach und nach: Immer mehr Vögel stimmen in den Gesang ein.

EN: This is a direct sequel to the recording I posted last week (recorded on April 4th, 2023, just after 5:00 a.m.).

If you listen to both recordings one after the other, it is noticeable that Mr. Blackbird becomes increasingly lively: the singing is hesitant at first, but becomes more powerful in the end. (Well, even a blackbird has to wake up slowly in the early morning. 😆)

The rest of the bird world is also gradually waking up: More and more birds join in the song.

DE: Am 7. Mai musste ich eine schwere Entscheidung treffen: An der rechten Seite einer Einfahrt saß eine Kohlmeise - so nah an meinem Rekorder wie niemals zuvor. An der linken Seite dieser Einfahrt sang eine Amsel, die ich niemals zuvor gehört hatte und die ich unbedingt aufnehmen wollte.

Für welchen der beiden Vögel sollte ich mich entscheiden?

Für die Kohlmeise. Zunächst. Denn auf eine schöne Aufnahme der "neuen" Amsel zu verzichten, tat mir zu weh. So wechselte ich mit meinem Rekorder die Seite der Einfahrt.

Hier hört ihr beide Teil-Aufnahmen: Zunächst die Kohlmeise aus nächster Nähe, im Hintergrund die Amsel, dann ab 00:38 umgekehrt.

EN: On May 7th I had to make a very difficult decision: On the right side of a driveway sat a great tit - closer to my recorder than ever before. To the left of that driveway a blackbird was singing that I had never heard before.

Which of the two birds should I have recorded up close?

At first, I chose the great tit. But because it was too sad for me to miss a wonderfull recording of that "new" blackbird, I went with my recorder to the other side of the driveway.

Here you can hear both parts of the recording: first the great tit up close, the blackbird in the background, then vice versa from 00:38.

DE: Dies ist ein Ausschnitt einer viel längeren Aufnahme.

Die ursprüngliche Gesamt-Aufnahme dauert mehr als 40 Minuten (40:25) - und ist die längste Aufnahme einer Amsel, die mir je gelungen ist!

Hier hört ihr die letzten acht Minuten. Dies ist auch der schönste Teil der Aufnahme: Hier drehte sich die Amsel etwas mehr in Richtung Aufnahmerecorder und ist noch ein bisschen lauter und klarer zu hören (bei 00:51).

Die Aufnahme ist vom 6. Mai diesen Jahres. Die Gesamt-Aufnahme machte ich von ca. 04:18 bis 04:58 Uhr. (Und durfte mich in dieser Zeit so gut wie nicht bewegen, um keine Geräusche zu machen und um die Amsel nicht zu verjagen! 😅 )

EN: This is just a snippet of a much longer recording.

The original recording lasts more than 40 minutes (40:25) - and is the longest recording of a blackbird that I've ever had!

Here you can hear the last eight minutes. This is also the most beautiful part of the recording: Here the blackbird turned a bit more towards the recorder and can be heard a bit louder and more clear (at 00:51).

The recording is from May 6th this year. I recorded the blackbird from 04:18 AM to 04:58 AM. (And I was hardly allowed to move during this time, so as not to make any noise and not to chase the blackbird away! 😅 )

DE: Heute hört ihr wieder meine Lieblingsamsel aus dem Jahr 2022, aufgenommen ein Jahr später, am 19. Juni 2023: Dieselbe Amsel (soweit ich es von ihrem Gesang her beurteilen kann), derselbe Sitzplatz auf demselben Straßenschild, der ziemlich selbe Abstand zu mir, ca. zwei Meter.

Einziger Unterschied: Ich habe an meinen Rekorder Zoom H2n die Mikrofone Ronald CS-10EM angeschlossen. Sie sind binaural, ermöglichen also Aufnahmen mit Raumklang und werden wie In-Ear-Kopfhörer im Ohr getragen.

Zuerst hört ihr einen Ausschnitt aus der 2022er Aufnahme zum Vergleich, aufgenommen mit den eingebauten Mikrofonen des Zoom H2n. Ab 01:18 dann die neue Aufnahme. Ich rate euch zu Kopfhörern. 🎧

EN: Today you can hear my favorite blackbird from 2022 again, recorded a year later, on June 19, 2023. The same blackbird (as far as I can tell from its birdsong) is sitting on the same street sign as in 2022, in pretty much the same distance to me (about two meters).

The only difference: I connected Ronald CS-10EM microphones to my Zoom H2n recorder. They are binaural, i.e. they allow 3-d audio recordings and are inserted in the ears.

First, you'll hear a snippet of the 2022 recording for comparison, recorded with the Zoom H2n's built-in mics. The new recording starts at 01:18. I recommend headphones. 🎧
