This must be the most creative phone based #phishing scam. It takes into account many people screen their calls and leaves a broken up #voicemail that sounds vaguely important.

I just realized I want #iOS #Focus mode to be able to silence all calls except for people in my list, BUT show me the notification for #voicemail.

I don’t think this is currently possible, but I want it. Bonus points if it can be only voicemails over 8 seconds.

I guess I might feel differently after Live Voicemail Transcriptions goes live in #iOS17

It's bad enough I won't answer my phone for unrecognized numbers (barely answer it for known numbers...lol), but the unmitigated balls it takes to call me repeatedly when you could have left a voicemail after the 1st unanswered call...

I had to switch back to the iPhone. I couldn't access my voicemails on my Samsung phone, no matter what I tried. Made sure the permisions on both Google Phone and Samsung's voicemail app were all enabled, tried clicking the VZW (verizon) link from the 90008000 number sends me when I get a new Voicemail but the Voicemails aren't set up, but that didn't work. Tried calling the voicemail number. Tried resetting network settings. Restarting the phone several times. And then I swapped the SIM card to the iPhone, clicked the link for the voicemail, and it works. Right away. No restart or reset needed. *sigh*

Fondly remembering an old employer (now out of business) who insisted we provide customers with our personal phone numbers. They were also clever enough to mandate that we have voicemail enabled, so the customers could leave messages.

So, maliciously compliant as always, I set my voicemail message to the sound of a fax machine trying to connect. Amazingly, while my coworkers were always accumulating new voicemails, I never had a single one!

Here is part 2 of my Voicemail box drop recordings from around 1990 For context these are recordings of the phreaking/hacking scene back in the late 80s and early 90s that used compromised voice mail boxes at companies to trade accounts, codes and other voice mail drops and scene info. People would leave info and trade.

Visuals are VHS recordings of a BBS running on a commodore 64 from the admin side.
