Nach 2/Jahren nun doch weg vom #Vollaphone hin zum #fairphone.

Die Verwendbarkeit des #volla war leider eher schlecht als Recht. Ich nutze gerne datenschutzfreundliche und leichtgewichtige Apps (idealerweise #foss). Jedoch wenn das Gerät ständig hängt oder nicht mehr auf Touchinput reagiert weil z.B. gerade ein Gewitter war und man navigieren muss, dann ist es leider unnutzbar und zu frustrierend im Alltag.

Was geht bei #ubports? Es scheint wesentlich weniger Aktivität zu geben. Das letzte Update hat mein #volla verschlimmbessert.

@aurynn #volla has #SailfisOS community edition which can be run via multi boot. Not surd how good of bad the #VollaPhone22 is, I have the original #VollaPhone and it's not something I can recommend as its really slow.

Ubuntu 20.04 EOL is 2030 - lots of time to move to 22.04 (& beyond) with less difficulty - now that the switch also from Upstart to Systemd was made.

@volla vielen Dank erstmal für die zeitnahe Antwort. 😃

Ich habe die letzten Tage etwas recherchiert bezüglich #Volla und habe da eine Verbindung gefunden zu #Gigaset als Partner sowie Hersteller der Geräte, was definitiv für Volla spricht. 👍

Faszinierend ist auch #MultiBoot mit verschiedenen OS wie beispielsweise #UbuntuTouch für das Smartphone.

Das sind in Summe faszinierende Eigenschaften für ein Smartphone. 😏

Bin noch am überlegen bezüglich Test eines Gerät von Volla. 🤔

@volla mich würde erstmal etwas zu #MediaTek als Hersteller des verwendeten SoC interessieren.

Genauer interessiert mich die Unterstützung des Herstellers bezüglich langfristiger Updates des OS in Verbindung mit dem genutzten #SoC im Gerät. 🤔

Habe da bisher nicht viel gutes gelesen sowie gehört, im Vergleich mit #Qualcom und dessen #Snapdragon bezüglich Offenlegung des Code für langfristige Unterstützung der Software. 🙄

Eventuell kann #Volla da etwas Licht ins Dunkel bringen? 😉😃
