@walkonh20 @charlotteclymer I #volunteered for my local city bicycle/pedestrian committee. I had to do financial disclosure every year, take an ethics course, and recuse myself if a bike path came within 500 feet of my house. Above all, I had to think about the "appearance of impropriety."

Seems like higher offices gave the same requirements but aren't enforced.
