As many times as I've listened to the saga, the last line of Cryoburn (not the aftermaths) still brings a literal tear to my eye. I very much appreciate Gentlemen Jole and the Red Queen so it all doesn't end on that note.

As much as I enjoy Miles' story and eventually that of his wife Ekaterin, Cordelia is my favorite character. The bookends of her and Aral and of her and Jole are all done and leave her a whole and strong woman.

Something I love and find really fascinating about the #VorkosiganSaga is how flawed Barrayar is as a polity and a place, and how much Miles loves it and is loyal to it and believes it can be /better/. As a disabled man, a charismatic force, and a member of high ranking nobility, he is doing what he can to change the laws and culture and outlook of his homeland he loves to be something that can be better, fairer, more accepting and supportive, even though it's so, so daunting.
