Don’t know who needs to hear this, but no matter what #VoteBlueNoMatterWho (#VBNMW) folks want you to believe, it is not pro-fascism to recognize that Democrats bear considerable responsibility for Donald Trump ever coming to power.

Did not watch tonight’s GOP debate but this I know:

All of the candidates not named Trump have painted themselves into a corner. They need to be trumpier than Trump to get the MAGA vote in the primaries, but in doing so, they further alienate voters in the middle and on the left who are sick and tired of MAGA extremism.

Nobody on that stage stands a chance in the 2024 general.

Weird thought, but the liberal #votebluenomatterwho insistence is actually the most idealistic and unreal position possible.

It pretends that #democrats would do things if they could. But, for example, having both houses and the White House in 2021 wasn't enough. Because, as they like to smugly lecture, they need 60 votes, and #manchin doesn't count because reasons.

We should emphasize that while white Christian nationalists are presently the most egregious offenders, they are not the only ones. I see it as well on the putative left, especially among #Tankies and #VoteBlueNoMatterWho ( #VBNMW ) folks.

And in reality no challenge can ever be made, since the danger of the right will always be used as justification.
