An overwhelming majority of us want a #votingsystem that works better. We are parallelized by what? #StarVoting is unquestionably better than what we currently use. This should be a perpetually trending juggernaut of a topic. Are we so manipulated we can't even talk about viable solutions? Are we so invested in dysfunction that we will just let the fuses burn?

Most #Australians remember the frenzied cacophony of #legacyMedia hacks that emerged from the election of Ricky Muir.

So-called "progressive" outlets lampooned our democratic process that ensured votes for #minorParties were never wasted (unlike in the #USA). A process that enabled people like the once-relevant #NickXenophon to get elected.

Let us guess, two parties?

In #Australia we had a good #votingSystem where #politicalParties had "#preferences". They'd chose where a vote for them went next.

It lead to a great wave of votes you had to see to appreciate.

Also negotiating to be high on a party's Preferences was itself a #democratic process that commentators had to discuss, sometimes at length. And by looking at a party's Preferences you'd quickly gauge where they stood on a range of issues.

But in 2017…
