One of the key features I want in this voxel game is to be able to build airships. I decided to build a clunky little one for the first time today.
I've been working toward multi-player support this week and paying off any tech debt that happens to get in the way of that feature.
I also fixed some minor bugs and worked on networking pipelines :) next up is texture improvements for terrain or stats and moving statbars!

So I just updated the live beta version of Crystalline Bliss. I added a few new mechanics, the unlockable levels (and ways to unlock them), and in game manual complete with pictures to go over the new more complex game mechanics.
I added a new mechanic called "effects". Effects are obtained by popping jade crystals. Effects can change aspects of the crystals sets such as making them fall faster, become biggger, or change the types of crystals. #indiegame #IndieGameDev #voxel #voxelart

Back to ray tracing on the GPU in Avoyd:
I've now added the ability to use multiple storage buffers for the octree data to overcome the 2GB limit.
The approach is a little ungainly, requiring a switch statement to index the buffers, but it appears to only reduce performance by a few percent.

Ether Ocean level from Crystalline Bliss. The game will be live on Steam next month. Like everyone else I have to wait 30 days before anything can be visible.
The game will continue to grow and evolve though once its out. I am looking forward to adding as many cool levels as I can.
