Over the last year, I’ve been very into collecting #Digimon v-pets (virtual pets). When I was a kid, all I had was a single Tamagotchi and I had always been curious about Digimon stuff. Back then, a $20 electronic toy seemed like a fortune to me, now I can absentmindedly buy an entire set without thinking… for cheaper too, these things are averaging $12 on most retailers for the common models.

The newer models have a lot of improvements too, memory so you don’t lose progress when the battery dies or resets and a database for people who want to “100%” their devices.

My latest acquisition is probably the endgame of the obsession: a high quality, cast aluminum metal casing for an English Ver.20th or X. I’ve already got a spare device with the roster I want to implant into it, just waiting for a custom background piece and I’ll likely be assembling it on stream!

Just some pictures from #Peridot by #Niantic . I really enjoy #NianticAR games but #PlayPeridot is different because it feels like what the #Tamagotchi was wanted to do with the #TamagotchiPix

I really enjoy it though and being able to teach it tricks, and breed the little Peridot is really cool. It’s an interesting addition to the #VPet space.

I unlocked Kamen Rider Revi on my Tamagotchi and at first I was like "WTF is this horrible monster?!" Yeah I haven't watched Revice, but the tamagotchi gave his demon half the venom face.
