I'm going to have to look at #vpype or maybe @toxi 's library for pen plotting and see if I can tie speed and shading somehow.

A woodburning tool can do half tones and gradients where a laser is essentially pointillist.

A lot more control is possible, I just haven't hacked it together yet. Really excited!

First prototype pass on a method for printing AI generated images with a plotter and #inkscape ..

Learning the basics for #vpype and #inkscape with the new #Plotter and I've also been learning #sverchok for SVG exports in #b3d ..

I may have worked out a couple of parallel workflows, for #GenerativeArt and even plotting some of my #generativeAI work!

This was largely an intro to #vsketch and #vpype. I'm liking the workflow with these tools overall, though there are still a few mysteries to work out.

(At certain focal length settings or layer counts, occlusion seems to just give up; not sure why yet. Those dots up the inside are at the point where I unioned two shapes to make the base. How do I avoid that artifact?)

Super new to #penplotting — I set up an rPi with saxi to drive my #axidraw to decorate a muji notebook. I used #vsketch and #vpype to make the sketch!

My #ptpx postcard are finally completed!

They are a tribute to Susan Kare's iconic work on the early #Macintosh.

The symbols below are the icon's "checksum", expressed in Kare's Cairo #font (as remastered by Haley Fiege).

On the backside, I used Idrees Hassan's Monocraft font. It's a #Mincraft-inspired, bitmap-emulating, vector font, which I convert to proper bitmap and back to #penplotter vectors! 🤯

Made in #Python with #vsketch, Pillow and #vpype-pixelart.

I just released #vpype-pixelart 0.4.0 with two new features:
- support for overdraw in the `line` mode
- ability to set a background colour that will be ignored (by default, only fully transparent pixels are ignored)
