SCOTUS ruled the Alabama map unconstitutional but…

“…the Supreme Court’s February 2022 decision leaving the discriminatory map in Alabama, as well as similar maps in other states, in place for the November election, is likely responsible for the Republicans’ current majority in the House of Representatives.”

They get to look less extremist while getting the extremist outcome they wanted. Crafty.

No, #WashingtonPost, the Supreme Court did not say that Alabama had to draw another district "favorable" to Black residents, as your headline wrongly claims. The word "favorable" doesn't occur a single time in the decision.
The word they used many times was "proportional", and the idea behind that word is that the districts need to be equitable to Black residents. EQUITABLE, not "favorable."
