Below is my impression of the #VSM. Too much “overhead”😀

I believe Beer himself recognized somewhere that of all the subsystems making the VSM, only System(s) “of the first kind” are truly viable systems (can survive on their own). All the other systems are just “coordinators” relying on the existence of System 1.

The next Creating the Conditions for Change© workshop will be a mix of CC4C and the more technical side of the #viablesystemmmodel. The group are great systems thinkers and I'm sure they will soak the #VSM element up like a sponge. After working with them on systems change I immediately saw their potential for use of the #VSM. I'm very much looking forward to the session. #systemsthinking

Loving the emerging #innovation using #data to inform decisions & streamline #software portfolio, #product planning, #roadmap, and #SDLC processes, extending the principles of #ValueStreamManagement.

Its been a late finish for me tonight. Been facilitating all day then evaluating a #communityorganising project tonight, using #CSH and #VSM. Some interesting insights are emerging. I observed a Celebration Assembly tonight- there was breakdancing, football keepy uppies and singing. All good fun but I’ve just finished and I’m shattered now. #systemsthinking #systemschange
