Not an #introduction but an #update since my old pinned introduction post was out of date.

I'm into #programming both professionally and as a hobby, in love with #RustLang like the rest of the universe.

Currently working on #synth stuff at Supercritical Synthesizers and a #CLAP / #VSTPlugin for my own my company on the side.

Other than that, I'm into #guitar stuff, #MusicProduction and #SoundDesign as my primary hobby, with #climbing and #gaming following close behind.

The procedural LFO I sketched earlier for my #CLAP / #VSTPlugin works beautifully in practice, including self-modulation. It’s such a wonderful (but rare) feeling when ideas turn into reality smoothly like this.

I didn’t want to have discrete shapes for the LFOs in my #CLAP / #VSTPlugin so partly inspired by #Bitwig, I came up with these four controls that allow the user to dial in both basic LFO shapes and a bunch of weird ones as well. What do you think?

I’ve spent the last week or so setting up a company for my #CLAP / #VSTPlugin project and designing the modulation routing system. I’ve been putting that off since I test in #Bitwig which has built-in modulators.

I really need to stop equating progress with #code output, as I feel like I haven’t achieved much lately even though I’ve achieved a ton of things. Lines of code != #productivity. Putting in the design work now makes for a much better result.

Any #sounddesign people interested in contributing impulse responses or presets to a new, creative convolution #clap / #vstplugin I'm developing? It would be compensated of course.

Continuing work on the spectrum analyzer for my #convolution #clap / #vstplugin

A big problem with convolution is that output volume can vary wildly based on how well frequencies in the input and impulse response match (or don’t). This rough WIP view of the of the impulse response spectrum represented as colored bars will hopefully enable you to make better decisions when doing #SoundDesign

Working on a spectrum analyzer for my #convolution #clap / #vstplugin. It looked very confusing until I added the gradual peak drop feature instead of following the input spectrum instantly. Still lots of work left to make it nicer, but this should already be usable for continuing development.

I’ve been hard at work on my #convolution #clap / #vstplugin. Feeling great as it’s nearing feature completion, though there’s still a ton of work before I can release this to the public. A lot of the code is proto quality, the UI has to be designed and completely rewritten, presets have to be designed, manual written, website created, etc. etc…

There are literally no references for this, which makes development both exciting and at times frustrating. This is the first time on my #programming career I feel like I’m truly trailblazing. So many scrapped prototypes litter the way to this point…
