3. Make note of coterie Ambitions
4. Poise obstacles to strike
5. Drop hints, re: obstacles

‘Bloodlines 2’ now being developed by The Chinese Room* seems like good and, if not bad, at least weird news. The worlds and writing in their previous games are great, but will they tone down the game from action RPG to something TCR are more familiar with? Otherwise this might go horribly wrong, still.

* And a lot of staff from other Sumo Digital studios, I presume, because it doesn’t make sense otherwise.

Had a really good Vampire 5 game yesterday. Not sure how V5 it really is. It's shaping out to be something more like Hunter where one of the PCs is a vampire and another is a ghost. And the mortal of the group is the one hitting people in the kneecaps with a crowbar.

If you want to explainthe worst way possible.

In actuality, it's a really fun (type 2 fun) game about exploring themes like love, death, loneliness and how we do not fundamentally change after our late twenties.

23. I mentioned how gorgeous #BluebeardsBride was last week (https://dice.camp/@davej/110897281421581064), and both #VampireTheMasquerade and #ChangelingTheDreaming were cases of love at first sight. But one #TTRPG that I don’t think gets enough attention is #Aquelarre.

Its mechanics are fairly straightforward #BRP, and Reconquista-era Spain appeals to the history buff in me, but the art is really where it shines: faux-mediaeval portraiture rendered in vivid colour. Just beautiful.

My best secondhand purchase was 2nd Edition Vampire: The Masquerade at a Half-Price Books. It coincided perfectly with my intro to goth music and culture, and I like to think it adds to my cred :^)

In the 3 years since I've put WoD and VtM away, but it started a yearly tradition of gothic horror roleplay around Halloween. Pittsburgh by Night! Which has been a lot of fun too <3

I‘ve just read the book Dark Ages: Nosferatu, the first in a series of novels set in the famous RPG Vampire: The Dark Ages. It was a very interesting journey through Anatolia in the land of the Cappadocians. The biggest flaw of the book is that it was written only for RPG fans, assuming that the reader will know everything that is happening. Do hardcore #TTRPG players (#DND & #VTM in mind) ever replay campaigns like you would replay a rpg video game? To try different approaches, try to manage something that had failed, try to romance NPCs and see what could have happened?

It would need a fair amount of self discipline not to meta-game but it would theoreticaly be possible, and yet I've never heard of it.
