I used to play Role Master back in the 80s and see they've updated but still use lots of tables and charts. It would be great if they'd make system modules for #VTTs. It's a great system but automating it in #Foundry or #Roll20 could only make it better. But they've gone with their own (very) limited software system. With so many different gaming systems popping up every day they aren't special enough for that approach to work. #Rolemaster, #ttrpg

Microsoft has a free sticky notes app. Why don't any #VTTs have this functionality? Or index cards, etc. #TTRPG

Finally managed my first ever online D&D session last night. Never played an online game before and here I am DMing one. Bit of a shaky start but we're up and running at last. Quite impressed with the available #VTTs #5e

Over 1500 people or organizations are looking to use the #ORC license including the biggest #vtts which under the new #ogl aren't even allowed to have animations lmao.
Basically #WotC wants THEIR vtt to be the best one and handicap the rest, very competitive right mates?

@jamesgraham @seb_ Sure, #VTTs are not everybody's cup of tea and it's not the same as playing in person.

So far I've played only on Fantasy Grounds. But for #pf2e I think Foundry might be the most future proof of VTTs as it's easily extendable.

You need only one license for running & playing (+plus server costs if not hosting locally), and most other things you get for free, legally. For lore you still might want to get the books if playing on Pathfinder universe.

The #DND #OLG situation will end with 1.0a legally standing, will be irrevocable. 1.1 proceeds forward and covers 6e content, upcoming #WoTC #VTT and all digital assets. The play seems to be to have other #VTTs , #TRPGs, and content creators to accept the new onerous 1.1 license in return for 6e access. They see other VTT as competitors and want % income from large content creators. They are betting fan base will move to their VTT exclusively. It’s a move for Hasbro shareholders and $$.

#LeGuin is one of the few #fantasy or #scifi authors who transcended, to be considered a great writer in general. Her prose (rough-hewn in 'The Lathe of Heaven') just got better and better, and by the time she got to #Tehanu her voice was mellifluous in my mind's ear.

And I am really into #TTRPGs and #VTTs , though not #DnD as much. I like designing games most of all.
