Nirmatrelvir–Ritonavir (=Paxlovid®) ist ein gut wirksames Medikament zur Behandlung von COVID19. Problem ist oft, dass es wegen Medikamenteninteraktionen nicht gegeben wird - oft auch wegen der Angst davor.

In dieser Studie aus China wurde ein vorerst noch VV116 genannter Abkömmling von Remdesivir getestet und zeigte eine ähnliche Wirksamkeit wie Paxlovid, aber mit dem Vorteil viel weniger Kontraindikationen. Und im Unterschied zum nur als Infusion verfügbaren Remdesivir kann es geschluckt werden.
