@AAKL It seems that compatibility process is less restrictive on W11 fresh install than the one used for Feature Update. At work I can do fresh #Windows11 setup on an old laptop but I cannot upgrade it to #W11 from #W10 (CPU not compatible)

Apparently #Linux may have grown to 3% share of consumer computer #OS use for the first time, as #Microsoft #Windows slumps. Wonder if my #FOSS migration is contributing to both trends. One weekend of experiencing #Windows11 preinstalled on a new #laptop was enough to hasten my conversion at home. When #Windows10 reaches EOL, we're adopting the penquin all around.

I do not look forward having to support #W11 daily with my clients at the office.

"I have, of course, turned of search suggestions. But that's not what I am writing about.

The search pane that pops up from the search pill has no X to close the window again. In the accustomed place is a tank-trap that takes you on the dark path (to bing).

Despite working in computer support since 1996 I still haven't figured out the exact rules that guides if Windows is allowed to show ads on the start menu. I have never experienced it, on any version of 8, 10 or 11 so my strongest lead is that's a regional thing? ( I live in Sweden and nobody I know get third party ads in windows here.)

the new windows 11 update sucks! I like to use a grey colour theme and now I can't see anything when the volume/brightness indicators appear because the background is almost the same colour and doesn't change much when I increase or decrease things
