There are critical water restrictions in #Otāne, #Waipukurau & #Waipawa, with a Boil Notice in place. Water is unlikely to be back on for 3-4 days & you'll need to collect & conserve.

The general rule of thumb is to have 3l of water per person per day. This water is for essential needs only.

The #Waipawa and #Tukituki Rivers have topped their banks & there is a high probability of the stop bank failing with continued rainfall. The town water supply has failed due to flooding & the community are relying on their emergency supplies.

#Hastings & #Napier: around 16,000 people are without power & it could be days or weeks before power is returned.

The Ngaruroro River overtopped its banks, resulting in the evacuation of Ōmahu.
