My first check of the Teifi Valley Trail completed from Llangeler to Newcastle Emlyn via Allt y Cafan in blistering heat. The route is being created by Walkers are Welcome volunteers and navigable through sleepy hollows and lesser used footpaths. #RiverTeifi #Carmarthenshire #Walking #Cerdded #Antur #Teifi #TeifiValleyTrail #WalkersAreWelcome #NewcastleEmlyn #Llangeler #AlltYCafan #Wales #Cymru

Coleford Welcomes Walkers (CWW) recently participated in Charles III coronation weekend by organising an event for the Big Help Out.
The Milkwall to Coleford Cycle track was in need of some TLC. Volunteers gathered to undertake repairs.
The towns mayor Nick Penny said of the work, “Thank you very much for all that you continue to do for the town of Coleford”,

Imagine walking through all the accredited Walkers are Welcome Towns in the South West via Slow Ways? It's possible and I like the look of the trek across the Mendips from Cheddar to Keynsham.

The Kington Walking festival started with a bang last night with an early evening walk across the Radnor Hills, finishing with a pint in the Harp Inn, Old Radnor. Walkers are Welcome Town - Dereham
The poet and hymn writer, William Cowper (1731-1800) settled and died in Dereham, Norfolk. He wrote of life in the English countryside, becoming a forerunner of Romantic Poetry. He was much admired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth.
Cowper’s House in Dereham Market Place was demolished, and the Cowper Evangelical Congregational Church was built in his memory.

Research shows that it is not about the amount of time spent in nature objectively, but that moments of active engagement are what develop greater nature connection and well-being benefits.
Slowing down, noticing, engaging the senses, and exploring the meaning of experiences is key to going beyond just physically being in contact with nature, to developing an emotional connection and closer relationship.

In the autumn of 1830, the Hampshire countryside erupted behind Captain Swing in the Dever Valley Swing Riots!
This Spring, Whitchurch WaW will launch a new trail to celebrate passing by the pub in Sutton Scotney which proudly displays a commemorative plaque recording the names of the villagers who signed the petition to the King, ‘they challenged injustice in defense of their rights and they should not be forgotten’

Walkers are Welcome Towns - Wolsingham, County Durham
Wolsingham is the gateway of Weardale, one of County Durham’s rural country Dales. The area is north of the well know Yorkshire Dales, between Teesdale and Tynedale, but it is less well known and is largely undiscovered! Weardale is part of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Walkers are Welcome Town - Whitchurch, Hampshire
Nestling in the upper reaches of the River Test chalk stream, Whitchurch is Hampshire’s smallest town.
This part of North Hampshire is a tale of two halves, from the river valleys and meadows to the ancient flinty tracks, high chalk ridges and steep valleys of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is Hampshire walking country without the crowds.
