This experimental film written by Wallace Shawn and André Gregory and performed thereby, directed by Louis Malle, was an exercise in sheer gall. Wallace Shawn was looking for an easy screenplay to write that didn't require a lot of work, but then it hit him that he could write something based on conversations he'd had with his friend and fellow actor-writer-director.
